Lead qualification is the process of deciding, before booking a call, whether a prospect is actually a good fit for your offer. Without it, your calendar fills with people who are unlikely to buy — wasting your closer’s time and lowering your close rate. Setor AI applies your qualification criteria to every conversation automatically, so the calls you take are with people who match what you sell.

What Is an ICP?

Your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) defines exactly who your offer is built for. You configure this during onboarding with your dedicated success manager, and it becomes the filter Setor AI applies to every lead it encounters. An ICP can include any combination of criteria that matter to your business, for example:

Niche or Industry

The type of person or business your offer serves — fitness coaches, course creators, consultants, e-commerce brands, and so on.

Audience Size

Minimum or maximum follower counts, engagement levels, or other signals of the lead’s reach and market position.

Offer Type

Whether they sell products, services, or information; whether they already run a coaching program or are just starting out.

Geography

Country, language, or region — useful when your offer is location-specific or when you only work with clients in certain markets.
The tighter your ICP, the more precisely Setor AI can filter. During onboarding, your success manager works with you to define criteria that balance quality against volume.

How Setor AI Qualifies a Lead

Qualification happens across the entire conversation, not in a single yes/no check. Setor AI gathers signals progressively and applies your criteria as information becomes available. Here is what it works with:
  • Instagram profile — bio, follower count, account type (personal, creator, or business), and the story the profile tells about who this person is
  • Recent content — posts, images, and captions that reveal the lead’s niche, level of experience, and current situation
  • Reels and videos — analyzed for context, not just text; Setor AI understands what the content is about, not just what it says
  • Voice notes — listened to and understood, so a lead who prefers to speak gets the same quality of handling as one who types
  • Conversation answers — questions Setor AI asks naturally as part of the conversation, designed to surface the information your ICP requires
Based on all of this, Setor AI either continues the conversation toward a booking or handles the contact appropriately — without aggressively pursuing a call that is unlikely to convert.

Advanced Filtering

Profiles that clearly fall outside your ICP are filtered out before the conversation begins. Setor AI checks the profile against your criteria at the point of contact, before it invests time in a back-and-forth exchange. This has two practical effects:
  1. Fewer wasted messages. Setor AI does not open full conversations with people who have no chance of converting, which keeps your reply rate healthy and your messaging focused.
  2. A cleaner calendar. The calls that do get booked are with people who passed your filters — meaning your closer spends time on real opportunities.

Qualification vs. Closing

Setor AI qualifies leads and books calls. It does not close. Once a lead passes your ICP criteria and agrees to a call, your sales process continues as it normally would — with your closer running the conversation, handling objections, and making the sale. Setor AI’s job ends at the booking confirmation.
Qualification criteria are configured by your dedicated success manager during onboarding. You can update them at any time by reaching out to your success manager or contacting support at [email protected].
Finding the right balance: Tighter ICP filters produce fewer booked calls but higher close rates, because every call is with a well-matched lead. Wider filters produce more volume but a broader mix of fit. Neither is wrong — it depends on your offer, your closer’s capacity, and where your business is right now. Your success manager can help you adjust the balance as you gather data from real conversations.
