When to Use Manual Takeover

Most conversations run better when Setor AI handles them from start to finish. But there are situations where your personal involvement makes a real difference:

High-Priority Leads

A lead you recognize, a warm referral, or someone significant in your network — situations where you want to handle the conversation yourself from the start.

Off-Script Situations

An unusual question, a sensitive topic, or a conversation that’s taken an unexpected turn that the AI isn’t handling the way you’d prefer.

Requests for a Human

A lead who explicitly asks to speak with a real person rather than an automated system. You can step in immediately and continue the conversation yourself.

Your Personal Touch

Any conversation where you feel your direct involvement — your tone, your relationship, your judgment — will move things forward more effectively than automation.
Manual takeover is not a last resort. It’s a deliberate tool you can use whenever you decide the situation calls for it.

How It Works

Taking over a conversation is straightforward and takes effect immediately.

Open the conversation in your dashboard

Log in to the Setor AI dashboard and find the conversation you want to handle. All active conversations are visible from one place, whether they’re currently being managed by the AI or not.

Enable manual mode

Toggle the conversation into manual mode. Setor AI pauses immediately on that specific thread. It will not send any further messages until you re-enable AI handling.

Reply directly

Send your messages from the dashboard, or switch over to Instagram and reply from there. Either way, your replies go through as normal. The lead sees no difference.

Re-enable AI handling when you're done

When you’re finished, toggle the conversation back to AI mode and Setor picks up from where you left it — or leave it in manual mode if you want to continue handling it yourself.
Manual takeover affects only the individual conversation you toggle. Every other conversation in your inbox continues to be handled by Setor AI without interruption. You don’t need to pause anything else to step into a single thread.

Your Data Stays Yours

Every conversation Setor AI handles is visible in your dashboard in full — every message sent, every reply received, in chronological order. Nothing is hidden, summarized away, or accessible only through support. Whether a conversation was handled entirely by Setor AI, taken over manually, or a mix of both, you can read the full thread at any time. This gives you complete visibility into how your leads are being handled and the context you need to step in confidently when you want to.
If a specific type of conversation keeps coming up that you find yourself taking over regularly, that’s a signal worth acting on. Bring it to your success manager — they can review the conversation history with you, identify what’s happening, and update your AI’s instructions so it handles that scenario better going forward. Manual takeover is a useful short-term fix; your success manager can make it unnecessary.
